Citrus

When a fellow mom and business owner sends an SOS less than 24 hours before a birthday party asking for help, Party Hero accepts the challenge.

The request was a bougie citrus picnic for an 8 year old girl’s birthday party.

I mean could this scream “I LOVE SUMMER” any more?

This 8 year old might just be our spirit human. Yes, this was for an EIGHT YEAR OLD little girl’s birthday party. Although not many 8 year old’s give us a citrus party request, this tablescape is perfect for a fun backyard dinner party, bridal shower, baby shower, bridal brunch, summer girls night, the list goes on and on because who doesn’t love a bright and colorful themed table, right?

The best part about this tablescape is it’s so easy, your husband can put it together. No joke, just ask mine. This party request came in less than 24 hours before the part time from a mom in SOS mode looking for a backup party designer and rental provider as hers had just bailed with less than 24 hours notice. We accepted the challenge, even though we had several parties this weekend, so this one got my husband along for the ride! He helped me throw this together in no time.

I’ll show you how you can create the perfect citrus themed tablescape on a budget for your next celebration!

The Place Setting

The adorable citrus plates from the Squeeze the Day Party Supplies Collection by Ginger Ray steal the show. This is a fully unsponsored event, and we just truly enjoy using these products.

For this table setting we used disposable paper products for easy clean up and durability for a group of 8 year old kids.

We dressed up the disposable plates, napkins and straws with a designer disposable gold and white fork with a lime napkin as a coaster.

To finish the place setting and add some bouginess was a natural hemstitch linen napkin and a yellow burst napkin ring.

The Centerpiece

This centerpiece is a piece of cake and by far the most fun I’ve ever had making .

To start off you’ll need the following.

Please note these quantities are based on a 4 ft table.

4 Limes

12 Lemons

3 Oranges

2 Grapefruit

Greenery

Runner (I used a tangerine orange burlap runner for a natural feel)

2 glass jars

3 potted faux greenery (fresh would work too!)

1 bouquet of flowers - optional

(client provided a small bouquet from the local grocery store to incorporate)

A simple backdrop for photos and a touch of class can go a long way. For this backdrop, we used the Ginger Ray Squeeze the Day Garland and 2 Ginger Ray Balloon Clusters, with one at each end.

A backdrop will extend the theme to other parts of the party while also serving a functional purpose for photos. The balloon clusters can be scaled up or down depending on budget and level of boujiness you are trying to achieve.
